IMPLANTS

Implants is the procedure for placing artificial roots (fixtures) into the jawbone where teeth are missing.

These roots are then used as abutments for holding the new crown and bridgework.

Implants are also referred to as third generation teeth.

The procedure for placing implants is divided into five stages:

  • Pre-Implant finding out the best implant solution and providing a temporary solution

  • Stage I Implant surgically placing the fixtures into the jawbone

  • Healing Period allowing 0 to 6 months for the fixtures to osseointegrate

  • Stage II Implant surgically exposing the fixtures

  • Prosthetic making the crown and bridgework or clip-on denture.
